Mark your calendars and join us for the Lower Northeast Neighborhoods Association’s 2026 Annual Meeting on Saturday, May 2, at 3 p.m., Sociable Cider Werks, coinciding with the City of Minneapolis’ Neighborhood Day celebration! There will be free food available and Sociable Cider Werks will be providing one free beverage per person. There is no charge to attend this community event, but we are asking people to RSVP.
RSVP for the 2026 Annual Meeting
At the Annual Meeting, you will hear updates from elected officials, learn about upcoming projects, and have the opportunity to vote in the Board elections. Guest Speakers include: Representative Sydney Jordan, and Senator Doron Clark and MPRB Commissioner Dan Engelhart. Ward 1 Council Member Elliott Payne and Ward 3 Council Member Michael Rainville.
Elections to the Board of Directors
We are currently seeking candidates for the board of directors. Anyone who lives, works, owns a business or owns property in either the Beltrami or Northeast Park neighborhoods is eligible to run for a seat on the board. Responsibilities include attending monthly board meetings; participating on a committee; volunteering at neighborhood events; and/or helping with neighborhood projects.
The Beltrami neighborhood has the following seats up for election:
- 2 Board Seats with 2-year terms
- 1 Board Seat with 1-year term
- 2 Alternate seats with 1-year terms
The Northeast Park neighborhood has the following seats up for election:
- 3 Board Seats with 2-year terms
- 2 Alternate seats with 1-year terms
Serving on the board is a rewarding way to get involved, meet neighbors, and work collaboratively on initiatives that enhance our community. Board members help guide LNENA’s mission, advocate for neighborhood priorities, and support programs that promote equity, safety, and livability.
Who Should Consider Running?
We welcome candidates from all backgrounds and experiences. Whether you’re a longtime resident or new to the neighborhood, your voice matters. If you care about issues like public safety, community events, local business support, and neighborhood improvements, we encourage you to run. LNENA Board of Directors application
Board candidates will have the opportunity to provide a no more than 2-minute introduction at the Annual Meeting prior to the voting taking place.
Only people who live, work, own a business or own property in either the Beltrami or Northeast Park neighborhoods are eligible to vote in the LNENA Board Elections. Candidates receiving the highest number of votes will fill the available seats. Remaining candidates (if applicable) may be offered alternate positions in order of vote count.
