The Lower Northeast Neighborhoods Association (LNENA) offers home security grants to improve neighborhood safety and prevent crimes by increasing security measures for homes and garages in the Beltrami and Northeast Park neighborhoods. Grant funds are provided by the City of Minneapolis Neighborhood Revitalization Program (NRP).
All residential properties in the Beltrami and Northeast Park neighborhoods. Grants are issued on a first-come, first-served basis as funds are available.
The Lower Northeast Neighborhoods Association will reimburse residents for up to $200 in home security improvements.
- New locks for windows and doors
- Motion sensor lights for the exterior of your home
- New strike plates
- Replacements for broken windows or doors
- Security cameras, etc.
If a resident is unsure of where to start, we recommend starting with a free Home Security Audit from the MPD. For more information about the security audit, please contact Teila Zoller, the Precinct 2 Crime Prevention Specialist, at Teila.Zoller@minneapolismn.gov or 612-637-1706.
To apply for the grant, please submit an application via email to firstname.lastname@example.org or by mail at PO Box 18012, Minneapolis, MN, 55418. LNENA will contact you within 10 business days to inform you of the status of your application. Once your project is approved, you can proceed knowing you have funding from LNENA. When your project is completed, and you’ve submitted all receipts and proof of City inspection (if applicable), you will be reimbursed by LNENA.
Residents can also retroactively apply for the grant as long as all the documentation requirements of the grant process are met.
