Organized by the Lower Northeast Neighborhoods Association (LNENA) in partnership with MPRB Commissioner Billy Menz.
As residents and community members of Northeast Minneapolis neighborhoods, we believe that a safe, accessible, and well-maintained dog park would provide numerous benefits to our community, including:
- A safe and designated area for dogs to exercise, socialize, and play off-leash;
- A stronger sense of community among dog owners and neighbors;
- Improved public safety and cleanliness by encouraging responsible pet ownership and reducing off-leash activity in undesignated areas;
- Enhanced use of Northeast Park as a vibrant, inclusive space for all.
We urge the Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board and the City of Minneapolis to partner with the Lower Northeast Neighborhoods Association in exploring, designing, and funding a dog park within Northeast Park.
