Is your Election Day polling location at Northeast Recreation Center?
As you know, Johnson St NE is being resurfaced/reconstructed, and that road is now closed going southbound from 18th Ave NE. Voters might be concerned there is no way to access their polling place at NE Park, but access IS going to be open from the south. Voters traveling from the north by vehicle would be advised to travel west on 18th to Fillmore St, then south to 14th Ave, and then east to the access to the parking lot. Anyone approaching from the south can take Johnson to the entrances to the parking lot for the park building noted in green on the map below.
Public Works is in the process of ordering larger traffic signage that will be placed at key points on the route from the north and the south, indicating a path of travel on the signage on the north side or indicating Johnson/the poll is open on the signage coming from the south, and we will be supplementing their signage with our own A-frames and smaller “VOTE” signs along Fillmore and along14th as well.
