Dear neighborhood,
It is with heavy hearts that the Northeast Park Neighborhood Association board responds to the death of Daunte Wright. We offer our shared condolences to the loved ones of this young man and to our community. We acknowledge the pain, trauma, anger, fear and anxiety that so many in Brooklyn Center and across our state and county are navigating right now in the midst of Derek Chauvin’s trial. NEPNA firmly believes that racism has no place in our society and there needs to be change to ensure that the lives of Black, Indigenous, and People of Color are valued and protected. We resolve to be part of that change.
