Free and low-cost four-day camps for kids ages 8-13 offer fun, supervised activities Tuesday-Friday, 10 am-5 pm, every week June 27-August 18
Summer Break begins in less than two weeks, but don’t panic, the Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board just made extra spots available in its summer Neighborhood Day Camps!
Your choice of five different affordable day camps for youth ages 8-13 will rotate throughout Minneapolis neighborhood parks throughout summer. Sign up before school is out!
These themed, all-day camps run Tuesday-Friday throughout the summer for $0-10 per child, depending on park location. Click the camp theme names below to view options and register, or browse all camps here:

2023 Neighborhood Day Camp Basics
Who: Youth ages 8-13
What: Low-cost, four-day youth summer camps
Where: Camps are offered at two locations in every park service area. Every camp is not offered at every site, see registration for specifics.
- North: Fairview and Creekview
- NE/SE: Logan and Van Cleve
- SW: MLK and Bryant Square
- Lower S: Longfellow and Brackett
- Upper S: Corcoran and Powderhorn
When: Tuesday-Friday, 10 am-5 pm
Dates: Camps are all four days each, spanning June 27-Aug. 18. First camp runs June 27-30, Last camp runs August 15-18.
Cost: $0-10 per camp, per child, for Minneapolis residents.
Good to Know: Pack a lunch, swimsuit suggested, these camps take place primarily outdoors so dress for the weather and be aware campers may travel offsite.

Camp Themes
Dabble in all things art! Campers will try out visual and performing arts in fun outdoor spaces.
New adventures every day while exploring Minneapolis on a bike! This is not a learn-to-bike program, must be able to bike at least four miles. Bikes available to borrow.
Spend time learning about local edible plants from a Master Gardener and hopefully catch some fish! Then head to the rec center kitchen to create delicious dishes.
Discover Minneapolis’ beautiful urban outdoor landscape! Campers will learn archery basics and canoe one of our beautiful city lakes.
Water activities galore! This camp is all about water – swimming, slides and water all day long!
